Cryermalt has very successfully supplied premium malts and malt extracts to the Australian & New Zealand brewing industry for several years having contributed to many award winning beers. We are now proud to announce our expansion into the wider Australian & New Zealand food industry that includes membership of BIANZ (Baking Industry Association of NZ Inc). Our malt & malt extract food ingredients are produced from quality grains by our suppliers Weyermann®, Barrett Burston, Malteurop, Bairds, Thomas Fawcett and Dingemans

Weyermann® in particular has an extensive product range including dark malt colours Sinamar® and Sinadry® that can replace Caramel colours.

What is malt & malt extract ?                                                          

Malt is a cereal grain that is soaked in water to partially germinate it then heated/dried. Malt that is mashed and brewed in hot water then evapourated to concentrate it gives Malt Extract.

Malt ingredients don’t require the use of E numbers on food labels ,instead use “Malted Barley” or “Malt Extract” ,etc.
